and the pens have been holding up very nicely. The black pen is used the most often

5.0 out of 5.0 by Tronger on May 17, 2016
Bought these pens for my planner about a month ago (April 2016), and the pens have been holding up very nicely. The black pen is used the most often, but all the pens have about the same ink consistency.

Pros:
- Pen retracts by clicking the pen's pocket holder clip. No need to uncap the 'eraser' end to erase ink.
- Colors are vibrant, except for the black (more like a dark grey).
- Ink consistency is like regular gel pens. Not very much pressure is required to write solid lines.
- Intentional erasing will almost completely erase markings. See attached photos.

Cons:
- Hasn't happened to me, but I heard that leaving the pens/written materials in a hot car will make the ink disappear. But I also heard that putting the previously heated pen/ink in the freezer for a while will make the ink reappear. I've been mindful of this, and been careful not to leave my pen set in my car.

I am someone who is very picky about what writing implements I use. I absolutely love this set of pens for so many reasons. There are many pens out there to choose from but Pilot has been around forever and I'm old school so I always check Pilot first when I the market for a pen, especially a new type of pen style that I am unfamiliar with. If they have what I'm looking for it's highly likely that I'm going to go with Pilot based on their quality and all my positive past history with this company. Some of my favorite features of this set are detailed below.

• • Best Features of this Pen Set

• Comfortable & Soft Grips

• Overall Design - Classic Filigree Pattern on each Pen

• Easily Erasable - Erase Completely & Quickly

• Erasing Doesn't wear or Destroy Documents

• Long Lasting Erasers that Don't Wear Down Quickly

• Case is Sturdy, Streamlined & Reusable

• Smoothe Write - Doesn't Smear or Smudge

• Quick Drying Ink

• Ink Color Accurately Represented - Matches Pen

• Clicker Retractable is Very Handy & Convenient

I couldn't be happier with this set. I'm always skeptical of gel ink. The color can easily be off than that of what is represented but not here. The color on the barrel is identical to the ink inside. Having the eraser a constant on top and making the retractable piece the clicker is genius and overall the selling point for me with these quality pens.
Pilot FriXion Gel Clicker Pens

I have used Pilot pens for years. They have always held up well, the ink glides on smoothly, no clogs. So, it doesn't surprise me that the Eraseable Gel Pens are extraordinary! The ink just glides on the paper. I bought these pens because they erase (totally) any mistake. No need to white-out, start over, or throw your paper in file 13.
They are AMAZING! Never thought I would get excited about pens. The set of seven includes - Red, Pink, Blue, Green, Black, Turquoise, and Purple. The pens are retractable, 100% eraseable, and the colors are AWESOME! Made a mistake, no problem. After the gel dries (about 3 - 4 seconds), use the eraser on the top of the pen, mistake gone, rewrite, another mistake? Erase again and continue your writing. These pens don't leave any residue on the paper, not a trace! Ink erases and your paper has no damage. Another plus is the pens are refillable, which makes them the perfect pen!! I love them !!!!! Highly recommend them. I will definitely buy more.
I'll never use anything else again!

For anyone who has never used FriXion pens, they're nothing like the miserable erasable pens they had when I was younger. I am an engineer in graduate school, and I have actually stopped using pencils (except when fine lines are needed) because I find that these pens erase more cleanly.

Cons:
The ink will erase if the page gets very hot, so I am always careful to not leave my notebooks in my car on a hot day (I don't know exactly what it would take for to erase a notebook, so I air on the side of caution). If you ever did find yourself in a bind, you can freeze the page(s) and after a while the ink and color will come back (though it is a little faded, but perfectly legible), along with any mistakes that you had erased when you wrote them (so this isn't the greatest idea!). Also keep in mind that if you were to run these through a printer (say if you wanted to print something onto your notes, the heating element in the printer that dries the ink _will_ erase everything on the page written with these pens). Also, I find that the ink in these pens only last about a quarter as long as traditional pens (maybe less), but even as expensive as they are and as often as they need to be replaced (about 2-3 packs per semester), these things are still well worth it!

For those of you that already know how awesome these pens are, this is my go-to style when it comes to all the different types of FriXion pens: I like the selection of colors and the clicker version is a must have. The 0.7mm tip is the most versatile and the case that the pens come in is a must-have, in my opinion.
Ink disappears in random dime-sized spots

3.0 out of 5.0 by Via S. on September 18, 2017
I absolutely love that these are erasable. I only use them for my planner so unfortunately every single thing I write is important and I cannot afford to lose. I have found little spots of ink missing here and there (I bought these pens a few months ago and have found a couple dozen spots erased). It's the strangest thing-- it's never left in heat or near water yet only small spots are erased, like the size of a dime here and there but never a whole page. (If you look at the picture, the word "warmer" is incomplete in two different spots on the same page.) I have found important dates and times missing like my parents' flight information and my pediatrician appointment times. This is extremely frustrating and I have no idea how this is happening. No heat and no water! Can someone explain this?!?
My go to pens!

5.0 out of 5.0 by Stephanie Lopez-Sepulveda on February 24, 2017
Love Love Love!! I have purchased these pens over and over! I am 4th year college student and these have truly helped me organize my notes. They are so great for color coding and I love that you can erase because I know for a fact if I wasn't able to, my notes would be so sloppy! I have recommend these to other students and friends and they too have loved them. The pens do write like a gel pen, so you have to be careful to let the ink dry a little before going over it with a highlighter for example. I would also suggest to try to not erase so hard as you will either rip your paper, or make it all wrinkly! Overall, these are my favorite!
The right pen for kids

4.0 out of 5.0 by LegoGirl on August 6, 2017
There are times when a kid or teen needs to write in ink, and no mistakes are allowed: thank-you notes, hand-addressed envelopes, keepsake letters, homemade paper crafts, even signatures on important documents. I can't tell you how many times things have had to be thrown away and re-written, because of errors or terrible penmanship (yes, I'm a picky Mom when it comes to this). With these pens, little kids can fix mistakes, and older students will probably appreciate the ability to make corrections to classroom notes as well.

The color assortment in this pack is nice, although some of the colors are not as bright as the pen's barrel suggests. I find that the quality of erasure varies a bit, depending on the paper; most of the time I'd say the erasures are pretty clean unless you are a heavy-pressure writer. Definitely good enough for fixing mistakes. The barrel of the pen is a bit larger than usual, but still comfortable. Ink rolls out smoothly
Great product but has some downfalls

4.0 out of 5.0 by Sabrina Schreck on April 2, 2017
I really like these pens. They are great for color coding and planners and note taking. The blue and purple are my favorite to use. The black is more of a grey and the green isn't bright (other colors are great), it takes a bit more pressure erasing with these pens than with a pencil, it's easier to write on a pad or notebook than on a paper on a hard surface but easier to erase on the hard surface than on a pad or notebook. After erasing its harder to write over the part you just erased. The erasers need to be clean otherwise it will smear grime on your paper. If you use too much pressure the paper will gather on the eraser(see picture). They work best on printer paper or thicker paper than on notebook paper. Despite its downfalls, it's a great and convenient pen.
Great pen set for the Rocketbooks

4.0 out of 5.0 by Amazon Customer on December 13, 2017
Bought both size of Rocketbooks and these pens. These go through ink quickly hence the 4 stars but overall a great buy. I took out the light blue and replaced it with a black pen that came with the Rocketbooks. if you dare to use Frixion highlighters they fit well in the case as well.

If using these for the Rocketbook try to vary your notes color. For stuff that is "formal" that I will share with the team I stick with Black for notes, Red for commands, Blue for explaining commands. If the notes are for me I will use the purple and pink keeping the red/blue for their same purposes.

Using this you get a bit more even wear out of the pens.
