With a little modding...

4.0 out of 5.0 by Justin Triggs on September 29, 2017
These grips take some getting used to, but they are far more comfortable than using the JoyCon by itself. They fit the controller well, but as alot of people on here have said, the triggers are pretty mushy. Not very good for Mario Kart drifting. As the grips come, they earn 3 stars on comfort alone.

There's a very easy and quick five minute fix if you want to fix the triggers. Amazon makes these with cheap pieces of springy sponge-like material under the triggers. Take out the four screws that hold the grip together, pull out the foam, and get a couple springs. Put the springs under the triggers and out it back together. I can't tell you exactly what kind of springs to use because I got mine from a broken GameCube controller, but trial and error goes a long way. Seriously, playing with these is a thousand times better once you add the springs. See the pictures for more details.

Really great product, esp for the price!
It makes the controllers SO much easier to hold when playing. Mario kart is way more fun now. :)
I understand what ppl mean when they say the R and L buttons seem "spongy", but it in no way affects their performance. It doesn't block the signal between the controllers and the switch either.
10/10 would reccomend!
Fantastic quality grips for a great price. AmazonBasics does it again!

I have said it in a past review; I love AmazonBasics. The products are always great quality and meet the needs they were designed for perfectly.

With these grips, I was expecting something softer, maybe slightly soft silicone. They are actually hard plastic, but they don't seem hollow- They have a great weight to them and the joy-cons fit inside perfectly. The little grippy thumb pad fit perfectly as well, and helps give you extra traction on the joystick. I bought these to use for playing Mario Kart and Smash Bros. when it releases with friends, and they've been perfect so far. The Price can't be beat when compared to the quality of these and other, cheaper grips. I definitely recommend these to anyone looking for something to pump up their Switch party play.
Perfect for Adult Kids at Heart

5.0 out of 5.0 by Sherman Robinson on November 21, 2017
So I purchased these grips because I just got a switch and my wife and I (big 30 y/o kids at heart) like playing the 2-player games like Mario Odyssey; the left and right joy cons independently are clearly too small for my adult hands. These grips make up for that perfectly and feel great while playing the game! Worthy investment for anybody over the age of 10 playing on switch.
Must-Have Accessory for Switch

5.0 out of 5.0 by Gee Ecks on November 2, 2017
These are great! Particularly for Mario Kart and Street Fighter 2. You effectively turn a set of joy cons into two full-sized controller. The grip feels great, the shoulder buttons feel good, and the whole thing feels high quality. The two covers for the analog sticks are kind of lame and unnecessary though. I think the sticks feel better without them, which is fine because they're so small I'm sure everyone will lose them anyways.
But for more relaxed single Joy-Con games like Snipperclips, it is perfectly fine

4.0 out of 5.0 by Michael L on March 18, 2018
This thing is a must for any adult that plans to play with a single Joy-Con. It makes a vast difference in comfort, and really should be an included accessory for the Switch. As others have said, the SL and SR buttons are a tad mushy and have a long travel distance, which is not ideal for Mario Kart drifting. But for more relaxed single Joy-Con games like Snipperclips, it is perfectly fine.
Grips that perform admirably with no apparent downsides

5.0 out of 5.0 by JokingJ on February 6, 2018
For the price, I can't imagine a better product. Unlike some other reviewers I found the clickiness of the trigger buttons to be more than adequate, nor do they feel spongy in my experience. The soft-touch texture over the plastic is also a nice touch (pun!) and adds grip to the controller in one's hands.

Honestly, these grips are just so simple there's hardly anything to complain about. I'm not sure why anyone would pay more for the Nintendo branded options or even for more mainstream third party grips. These perform admirably with no apparent downsides.
Seems to be hit or miss. Bought 2 sets ...

3.0 out of 5.0 by Jeff M. on June 13, 2018
Seems to be hit or miss. Bought 2 sets of these so I had 4 for the console. Out of the 4, 2 did not work properly. The shoulder buttons would not press the buttons from the joy-con properly, they were too short. Amazon sent a replacement set and I now have 4 working grips but they need to have some quality checks. In comparing these with working grips, there is definitely a noticeable difference in the little piece that hits the shoulder on the actual joycon.

Amazing grips that make a huge difference when playing two players with the Joy Cons themselves. I have fairly big hands myself and these made a huge difference in terms of comfort when playing Snipperclips with my wife. Definitely would recommend these to anyone looking to play more comfortable. Only down side is that the grip accessory for the thumbsticks is actually more slippery than thumbsticks by themselves but I won't knock it for that since it's still the best price for these.
These work great..

5.0 out of 5.0 by John F on October 16, 2017
These work great... JoyCons were unusable when detached in my opinion, but this product makes them quite comfortable. The "satin like" finish is really nice... the shoulder buttons work fine for now, but if the spongy material wears out, I will probably try to install a spring like another reviewer mentioned.
